Generous donors throughout the Hills have given over 190,000 gently used books for children in distressed situations.

Darla Drew founded Readiatrics when she discovered that hospitals and social services cannot keep books on hand for children. During her work raising books, she has also discovered the number of kids in South Dakota who've never owned a book.

Partnerships with businesses like Books-A-Million and the Black Hills Federal Credit Union help Readiatrics buy new books that allow children to read about children like them, perhaps in a wheelchair or being raised by their grandmother, for instance.

We are so excited for how many children we have been able to reach and can't wait to see how many more we can help in the future!
